Today has been good.
Lurch and I went to the FP’s, for free food and a good chinwag. We had very serious conversations today. One of them started out of my dislike for Gordon Brown…I think he’s a tosspot for many a reason. So the discussion led onto politics and the EU, with Lurch giving a very business and economical side to the conversation (seeing as this is what he did his degree in). This proved a very good dynamic to the conversation, as whenever the FP and I talk, it’s often very much about feelings, health and other such things.
The conversation soon became less serious for a time. I’m not sure how it came about, I think it was the FP who suggested that if every person in Britain went to the coast and got an oar we could row away. I suggested rowing to the equator, for summer, ‘cos the weather would be better, rowing up North for Christmas and snow. Lurch suggested we bang into France and the FP just laughed at the thought, saying we could go to America for a bit. She then pondered about whether there was actually water underneath Britain. Lurch pointed out there couldn’t be, else we would have floated away many moons ago, with the currents and that it would be much like the Titanic sinking, what with so many more people living in the south. I wanted to know what would actually happen, if we got every single fan in Britain and took them down to the South Coast and turned them on. Lurch just simply said “It’d blow Jersey away“. He might be right. I then came up with the idea of attaching millions of balloons and aeroplanes (stuff global warming) to Britain, so we could fly around and parachute off to any destination for a holiday, being picked up when Britain flew back over. Lurch correctly came up with many problems with this (although none of them involved the fact that it’s basically impossible) including drunk people daring each other to jump off, losing balls and frisbees to other countries and accidentally parachuting into the sea and dying. So we stuck with the rowing idea. I think it’s the perfect plan.
I asked Lurch a lot about his degree also today, he told me had failed some modules. Brings me out in hives to think about. I dislike failing.
We also spoke about other serious topics such as the World Wars etc. I find it all fascinating, however this blog is already too long I feel and I can’t remember most of what was said…it was good at the time though. I was sad to come home.
I have to get a mention of Prince Caspian in. I looked at another trailer…Susan and Caspian appear to kiss?! What on earth?! I think with this movie they are able to really Hollywood-ise it ‘cos it isn’t as well known as The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, however I am unimpressed. It still looks very good though, Will Moseley looks rather dreamy
Knights…or High Kings in shining armour, lovely.
Now I’m going to go eat, revise, sing to Paramore. Tschuß!
He he he…..
Sounds like you all had a laugh.
(So there isn’t water under Britain???)
I believe not. I wish there was, I would like to row Britain away, it’d be lots of fun.
