Poorly day today. I have a cold. Very poor. I nearly had an asthma attack. Ever poorer. I had an allergic reaction. Poorer still. I felt sick. Things just got worse.

Now I just feel very tired from it all. I’m no stranger to being ill. I get ill a lot. I always have, right from when I was small. It’s just one of those things. I’m going to have an early night.

I was at the FPs today. We drank tea. Talked about deep issues. One of my two eldest nephews…who both seem to find a way to insult me somehow asked me: “Why do your cheeks go all in when you smile?“ Looking slightly bewildered. Charming. My reply was simple. “They’re dimples.” Simple and dimple rhyme.

I’m going to Coombe Abbey tomorrow. The weather is meant to be nice so I’m sure it will be lovely. As long as I remember suncream.

It’s been a really delightful day today. Stratford is lovely.

We started out getting to Pool Meadow to wait for the coach, after buying our tickets.

Whilst we were queueing up to board the coach, Daniel asked me to guess what the coach driver’s name was. He guessed Dave. I guessed Charles. Daniel was correct, he was called Dave. The journey there was nice, we listened to ABBA and enjoyed the scenery, driving through Leamington where we waved at a man looking out of a window, he waved back and we were delighted. We drove through Warwick and saw the castle, ahhh the memories.

We got there and I purchased a map out of a map dispensing machine. However, just my luck, my map got stuck. So I was there tugging at it for ages. I did get it out though.

We visited Shakespeare’s birth place. The house that John Shakespeare owned and gave to William Shakespeare when he died. It was £9 to get in. Each. Luckily Daniel had vouchers and I’m so glad ‘cos it was rubbish. It literally was just his house…I remember seeing bedrooms…and little else. I could have just seen my own house. I suppose it was nice and old though. And there was an Irish woman explaining about gloves (Shakespeare’s dad being a glove maker and all). You weren’t allowed to take photos inside. I think mainly because if you put them online no one would pay to go in ‘cos there’s nothing to see. I did take photos of the outside though. See below.

We went to a wonderful cafe for lunch, the Courtyard cafe. We were wandering round for ages seeing where to go. We walked twice past a really jolly fat man who was always smiling. We loved him. My lunch was really lovely, I’d so have it again. After that we wandered around again, decided to go to the chocolate shop and then the fudge shop. I had a coffee ice cream from the chocolate shop, even though I was very full. The fudge shop was wonderful, so many things to choose from. I found some really hilarious items:

I didn’t buy any of those. Eating them would have been a challenge. We did buy some fudge though. Well, kind of. We both had a big piece of vanilla and chocolate fudge and then Daniel had chocolate and marshmellow and I had caramel and white chocolate. I’ve not finished eating them yet, they were large pieces and are very sickly. But wonderful.

We saw a nice church also, well a Guild Chapel. It was lovely inside, although falling apart some what.

We went for a drink after this. Daniel felt he had to buy more food, so he ordered a toastie that was supposed to come with a salad. The “salad” is shown below.

After this, we got harassed by a drunk man. All of the people apart from this one gentleman were really lovely in Stratford. However, he wasn’t. He came over mumbling something, Daniel thought he was asking for an umbrella and so told him we didn’t have one. The man then sang the Rhianna song Umbrella to us, which made me cackle but worried Daniel somewhat. He then talked about “Mark” always wanting to do things on a Friday. This was the point at which Daniel decided we should leave him, the man then offered him a book out of his carrier bag full of Magners cider. As we walked away after turning down his offer, he walked after us for a while. I was amused. Daniel wasn’t.

All in all we had a fantastic day. I was cackling my way through. Stratford is really lovely. Expensive, but lovely. Nice day trip

I went to Nando’s yesterday. It was lovely food. I usually just order a plate of chips when I go….I’m not very adventurous. However, yesterday I ordered a veggie burger. Lemon and herb. And a soft drink. Bottomless. It was a very spicy veggie burger, in my opinion. There was unlimited frozen yoghurt afterwards. It was lovely. I had a wonderful sugar high. Joy amused me throughout the evening by staring at Rosie when she had her head turned….then smiling when she looked at her. I cackled a lot.

I got a bit confused ordering my food though. I kept forgetting what I wanted in the queue and forgetting what table number I was at. So when I got there the conversation went a bit like:

Nando’s lady: “Table number?”   Me: “Can I have a veggie burger please?”   Nando’s lady: “What’s your table number?”   Me: “A veg….” Rosie: “She’s at number 35″   Me: “Ohhh, yes, I’m sitting at 37…or 35…can I have a veggie burger please? Lemon and herb. With just chips. And a soft drink.”

I’m not very practised at Nando’s.

Stratford Upon Avon tomorrow. Yay!

Was awesome. It was so cheesy. But that’s what made it great. Sometimes you need a good cheesy film to lighten the mood. I laughed a lot. Julie Walters was my favourite in it by far, I love that woman! They were all really good though. I found it bizarre when Pierce Brosnan started singing though. But he did it well. I can’t be bothered to do an in depth review like with Prince Caspian. But it was great, I recommend it. If you’re not a fan of cheese though or a fan of ABBA, then maybe you’ll hate it and you should go see Prince Caspian instead.

The cinema was packed. Everyone started clapping along at the end and then we all gave it a round of applause when it had finished. I’m going to have to wack out some ABBA songs now. (I still love Prince Caspian more though)

I have to also add that I love the woman at the ticket buying bit. We asked for two student tickets ‘cos they’re cheaper and she asked to see our  NUS cards. I don’t actually have one so I said. But she charged me student price anyway. Jolly good times.

I’m going to watch Mamma Mia this evening. Should be good fun. I’m also going to Stratford Upon Avon on Friday, which also should be good. I need to get my hair cut, I’ll probably get it done next week. Lovely

I have discovered that hayfever medication + Pro Plus + Apple Sours = zombified me. I don’t do well on that combination at all. And so I shall not take Pro Plus again. It’s perfectly legal incase you didn’t know. It’s just like a big dose of caffiene that has a huge come down after it. Shocking.

I am finally getting round to sorting out my Facebook. I generally just leave it be and comment on anything that I get e-mailed about if it takes my interest. I’m bored with Facebook and Myspace. They’re both a bit rubbish, however I am making a bit more of an effort with the former.

I think I shall go have a quick nap now. Damn I’ve just lost the game. Again. Poor.

It’s lots of fun this game. Except it’s not. Because the aim of it is that you don’t know you’re playing it. Confused?

Basically, you’re playing it when you’re not thinking of it. The minute you think of it, you’ve lost the game.

I keep losing.

I feel jolly today! Mainly because I have just had a nap and woken up fully refreshed and lovely. My hayfever has been really terrible today. Didn’t help that I was in the garden for most of the day digging. Like in Time Team. Only on a much smaller scale. And without any archaeological knowledge whatsoever.

It was a deep hole. I had fun. I found little. A piece of pottery, something coppery or bronzey, a piece of tile and a millipede centipede. Compared to the work I put in, the fruits of my labour were very poor. And so I shan’t be doing is again. I’ve no idea where the pottery is from. I’m not an archaeologist.

I’ve applied for a job. At the new History Centre. As an assistant. It sounds like a good job that I would enjoy. I’m very picky. I hope I get it, but I’m not being too optimistic.

I have a fun packed week ahead. I think it will be tiring. I’m missing Uni a bit now.

I also feel I have to share with you the joys of Cadbury Jaffa Cakes. Wow, they’re amazing. I think you should all try one. Or 4, like I did earlier. I might have another later. I’m a bit greedy when it comes to Jaffa Cakes…and also Jam Tarts

Can’t be bothered to do a proper blog. So I am doing a quiz. I haven’t done one in ages. They’re fun though.

Well that was fun.

I had a really long nap today. It was wonderful. I love having naps.

I’ve been in a bit of a grump today. My moods sometimes reflect the weather and as the weather is very poor today, so is my mood.

I’ve been watching Time Team. I think it’s awesome. It’s made me really want to dig a large hole in my garden and see if there’s anything there. Not that there will be. I want to know what my garden and house were like before either were put there. I know there was a brook at the bottom of my garden many many years ago, but I want to know if people lived here. I don’t quite know how to find out. I will do though. I think I’d make a good detective. I think I might join the Historical society next year. I shall e-mail and find out what it is they do.

I read something that really annoyed me today. Someone wrote in on Teletext saying that everyone should ignore Psychology ‘cos it’s just full of people pretending they have all the answers and is pretending to be a Science when it’s an Art. I fully disagree with all points. I can’t be bothered to rant too much but Psychology has made some real improvements in peoples’ lives, so it shouldn’t be ignored. Some Psychologists may pretend they have all the answers but I certainly don’t. And the many others don’t. I know I’m only just training to be one, but I don’t think I will everclaim to have all the answers, I quite like that I don’t, it makes it more interesting. And I do think it is a Science. Just because it doesn’t have definitive answers and a lot of it can’t be proved doesn’t mean it’s not a Science. All of Science is based on theory and the theories change all the time, most of what is taught in Science isn’t actually fact. So if you go on that basis, then Science should be called an Art as well. But it isn’t. So there.

I also read people talking about bringing back capital punishment and that if young people and adolescents kill, they should also be hanged. That’s such a knee jerk reaction. Yes, why don’t we just kill everyone who does wrong instead of getting to the root cause of the problem, because it’s really working for America doing it that way. America has the death penalty. Their murder rates are still huge. We need to find out why younger people are getting into killing people and try and sort it out there. Capital punishment is only treating the symptoms, it’s not getting to the root causes. I agree that they should be punished if they kill, obviously, but we need to find out why they have and try and get them back into society and give them a chance at a better life. Just my opinion.

Today has been a very very funtastic day. I went to go and see Prince Caspian again. I’ve seen it 3 times in total. It was even better the third time round. And I still have to go see it with the FP. Two wonderful things happened during the adventure of going to see Prince Caspian. (3 if you include the film itself)

Firstly, the aforementioned Beanhead was at the ticket counter. Rosie was going to get a discount for being a student (I don’t have a magical card so I can’t partake in these discounts) but he said it wasn’t valid. I then told him he knew my brother and that I knew his name was Beanhead. He simply said “well in that case…” and gave us both a discount. I love Beanhead.

It was only Rosie and myself in the cinema room, along with an older lady and a child. This older lady turned out to be my teacher from primary school, who actually read the Narnia books to me in the first place when I was about 6 or 7! How cool. She was the best teacher ever.

Oh yes, and I went to the FPs today. We drank loads of tea. I had a really wonderful time there too. I love going there and I love the discussions we have. It’s the FPs birthday tomorrow, she’s going to be an oldie. Happy birthday FP
